Overview
Within the remit of Web Services, managing editors have responsibility for and authority over the sub-sites they manage. They work with the relevant senior contributors to plan the maintenance and development, and ongoing integrity, of their sub-site(s). They also work with relevant contributors to ensure that maintenance and development is carried out in accordance with the plans, which includes co-ordination and ensuring that contributors have the skills necessary to fulfil their role. Further, that they ensure their website is produced and provided in accordance with the standards (ie quality assurance) established by Web Services.
Responsibilities

In conjunction with the relevant senior contributor(s), plan the maintenance and development of their sub-site(s).

Monitor and regularly review their designated section(s) of the LSE website and/or its sub-sites to ensure they accord with relevant plans and standards (ie quality assurance).

Communicate and co-operate with Web Services and senior contributors, and co-ordinate contributors to ensure work and supporting processes are both effective and efficient.

Maintain regular contact with Web Services to ensure that production and provision is in accordance with Web Services' standards and plans, and that best use is made of Web Services' services (eg web surgeries) and systems (eg CMS).
