Staff paid on LSE / Higher Education scales
Most staff employed by the School are paid on the LSE Single Spine, implemented as part of the School's Pay Framework in 2006.
(Staff employed directly by LSE Enterprise Ltd, although paid through the School's payroll, are not paid on LSE scales.)
The LSE Single Spine is up-rated in line with the pay award agreed by the national Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff which consists of representatives from UCEA (Universities and Colleges Employers Association) and all the Higher Education unions (including the three unions which represent LSE staff - the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU), UNISON and UNITE).
National Pay Negotiations 2016-17 – 1.1% pay increase implemented for September 2016
Although the national pay award for 2016-17 continues to be in dispute, UCEA have advised its members to proceed with implementing an uplift of the staff salary scales by 1.1%. Therefore, all staff will receive a 1.1% uplift in their September pay, back dated to August 2016.
Nonetheless, as this national dispute is still ongoing, we will keep you informed regarding any further related industrial action or other news as it arises.
For further information on the pay negotiations visit http://www.ucea.ac.uk/en/empres/paynegs/current/
The pay scales are available to view in PDF format.
