Designed to support the principles laid out in the LSE Ethics code the Effective Behaviours framework sets out the range of behaviours that are expected of all Professional Service Staff in the School.
As you can see above there are 6 key behaviours. Each of these as set of positive indicators that are examples of the type of behavior expected of Professional Service Staff. These behaviours are divided into 3 aspects:
Yourself – the behavior expected in your own day to day work
Your team – the behavior expected when you are managing a team and resources in you immediate area of work and/or when working/influencing others.
The School and Beyond-the behaviors associated with wider vision, policy and strategy
Clicking on each of the behaviours in the boxes above will show you the relevant examples under each heading.
The framework is designed to support a number of activities:
In terms of recruitment it will help those involved with selection have a clear understanding of the behaviours that are required for a role.
For learning and development the core course programme has been aligned to the framework with each course showing which Effective Behaviour the course supports and at which level. This will enable training and development activity to be focused on specific behaviours. See the course A-Z list for further details
The behaviours have also been integrated into the Career Development Review (CDR) process which will enable line managers to give staff clearer guidance about their ability to perform the role and staff a clear understanding of the behaviours attributes that are important to the University.
Full guidance for the use of the framework can be found here and booklet outlining the framework can be found here.
