Induction Mentoring is designed to help new staff at the LSE settle into their new role as effectively and quickly as possible. All new support staff will be offered the opportunity to take up the offer of a mentor for the initial six months of their employment.
All mentors will provide information, support, encouragement and the opportunity to meet a wider network of contacts throughout the School. This usually means meeting with you 2 to 3 times during your first six months, to discuss any issues/problems you may be having, on an informal basis.
Mentors may not know all the answers; neither are they experts in everything. However, a mentor can be viewed as a helpful colleague with experience of the structure and workings of the LSE.
The School's Induction Mentoring Scheme is voluntary and is undertaken only with the agreement of the individual, their manager and the mentor.
If you, as a new member of support staff, decide that you would like to take up the offer of a mentor, or would like the opportunity to find out more before you decide, please email Human Resources: email@example.com.
