  • British Academy Announces Funding Opportunities for 2013-14
    The BA has confirmed application details and deadlines for competitions in 2013-14. There are a variety of opportunities ranging from small research grants, funding for new academics and awards for Senior Research Fellowships.   • ESRC Retail Sector Initiative 2013
    A new £2.5m initiative for collaborative projects to undertake research and knowledge exchange activities that will maximise the impact of social and economic research on the retail sector. Further details can be accessed here.

  • British Academy and Leverhulme Trust announce major new investment in Humanities and Social Sciences:
    The Academy announced last year that its Small Research Grants scheme had been resumed. In a significant new development, the Leverhulme Trust has confirmed a grant of £1.5 million over 3 years to support the scheme which will continue to be administered by the Academy More.

  • Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers: The Concordat sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders.   • Inclusion of international co-investigators on ESRC proposals: overseas co-investigators can be included in the majority of ESRC research schemes. This link is of particular interest to staff wishing to collaborate with our partners at Sciences Po and Columbia. More.

  • Publicising your research - the School Press Office can help raise the profile of your work in the public eye both internally - through the website, the staff and students newsletters  and Research News - and externally by working with you to write a press release, arranging interviews with journalists, media training and targeting specific publications and organisations.
