Is Welfare Reform Working? is based on two rounds of interviews, first in 2013 and again in 2014, with 200 people who live in the south-west of England, from Plymouth to Bath to just outside Chippenham - where Cameron launched his election campaign yesterday.

Care for dying 'needs overhaul'

The UK's care system for dying patients with terminal illnesses is lacking and needs a major overhaul, says a damning new report. According to London School of Economics researchers, more than 100,000 people a year who would benefit from palliative care are not getting it.

The report, by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), was commissioned by charity Marie Curie. It found that an estimated 92,000 patients in England, 6,100 in Wales, 3,000 in Northern Ireland and 10,600 in Scotland would benefit from palliative care but do not receive it.
