Germany accused of killing eurozone recovery with austerity
The Times, 24/05/2013, p.61, Michael Binyon
Christopher Pissarides, a lecturer at the London School of Economics who advised the Cypriot Government during the recent fiscal crisis, said the single currency had backfired and austerity was destroying jobs. Without banking and fiscal union and new euro bonds, the single currency could not work.
A silver lining
Investors Chronicle, 24/05/2013, p.16, Chris Dillow
This, though, is not the only way in which investors ignore correlations. Erik Eyster and Georg Weizsacker at the London School of Economics have shown that they misperceive correlations between assets, and so over-diversify when correlations are high and under-diversify when they are low.
Frenetic pace of life holds women back, says judge
The Times, 24/05/2013, p.30, Frances Gibb
Lady Justice Hallett, who won wide praise for her handling of the inquests into the 7/7 London bombings, was speaking at a question-and-answer session held by the law faculty at the London School of Economics. She went on to call for the judiciary to be given a “proper voice” with Government and Parliament.
Muslims, take on this cancer in our midst
The Independent, 24/05/2013, p.19, Ali Miraj
There are two key issues here. First, the historic failure to clamp down on those inciting hatred. I remember going to see my local MP in leafy Ruislip/Northwood in 1993 when I was a student at the London School of Economics to show him literature being handed out by a radical Muslim group on university campuses. I told him that the Government had to crack down on this fast. He smiled and nodded politely.

Úniu nám treba, hovoria vplyvní Briti
Spravy Pravda, Slovakia (21 May 2013)
Professor Iain Begg was interviewed for a piece on British business views of EU exit.
