Time to unblock the growth path
Evening Standard, 09/05/2013, p.46, Anthony Hilton
It should not be as difficult as we seem to make it. A working group at the London School of Economics pointed out a few months ago that growth is neither about the size of the state or about deregulation. It is about whether the state is smart in the way it regulates and spends. We need well-designed policies to support growth and we need an institutional framework that delivers good policy.

Experts despair at coalition's fuel poverty pessimism
Politics.co.uk (Web), 09/05/2013, Unattributed
Instead of eliminating fuel poverty by 2016, according to figures from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc), it would increase by about half of what it was in 2009, John Hills of the London School of Economics said. "That was a profoundly disappointing projection," Hills said of Decc's estimate.
