Nathan Divinsky founded the magazine Canadian Chess Chat in 1959 and acted as its editor for 15 years. Divinsky's marriage to Kim Campbell also brought him into the public eye. The couple had met when she was an undergraduate 22 years his junior at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in the late 1960s; their relationship flourished when Campbell undertook graduate work at the London School of Economics.
