Power from the Earth's core - A

Power from the Earths Core A_477x362

This picture was submitted by Julie Ji, a graduate student in the Department of Social Psychology.

How the photo relates to the theme of 'risk':

"Theme - Climate Change: Taken at the Haukadalur Valley in Iceland in Dec 2009, it depicts huge plumes of steam coming off the many Geysirs in the Valley. In the wake of the Copenhagen, I wish to draw attention to the fact that almost the entire city of Reykjavik is powered by geothermal energy (hot water and electricity), and it is a great untapped resource that requires further attention and investment."
