Copenhagen Climate - What about the next generation? I

copenhagen climate 1_476x326

This picture was submitted by Kim Wall, an undergraduate student in the International Relations Department.

How the photo relates to the theme of 'risk':

"The remains of a life-size polar bear made out of ice on a metal skeleton and the melting process as metaphor for the current global warming, threatening the animal's natural habitat and people across the globe. As a symbol of how time is running out, the girl adds a tragic element of how our actions (or inaction) have a direct impact on the next generation. Taken in Copenhagen during COP15."
