"The Aguarunas live in the Amazonian Region of Peru. Their lives are under threat through discrimination, poor health services and pressures to remove them from their ancestral lands. This woman is a teacher of bilingual intercultural education, which focuses on preparing future leaders who celebrate their own culture and are able to defend their rights."
