'In April, and in September 1975 I was carrying out post-doctoral research in Cyprus on people from Argaki villages, displaced by war in August 1974. They were living in conditions of uncertainty in S.Cyprus. I wished to record that low point in their lives. I used a Rolleiflex and Pan X film. Photos 1 and 3 are of my first cousins.'
