First Prize
The first prize for this year's competition was a Diana Baby 110 Lomography camera and lens package, and was awarded to Akash Nahar, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Public Affairs, with his photograph '5 Billion Stars'.
At 14000ft above sea level, in the lower Himalayan Ranges in India, this place seems just perfect in all aspects. This picture also reminds how beautiful nature is. While we proudly talk of staying at 5Star Hotels, nature provides us 5Billion stars accommodation under the Sky (My name Akash also means ‘Sky’ in Hindi). I have travelled across the world, stayed at a few of the best Hotels, but nothing could match this place.
Second Prize
Second prize was awarded to Susannah Crockford with 'Sun Salutations'. Susannah is a Postgraduate from the Department of Anthropology.
The annual Burning Man festival is held in Nevada. This festival has a set of ten principles for attendees, such as radical self-expression. Participants are trying to live out their dreams of an ideal society. The four revelers dance naked on top of a repurposed school bus under the desert sun.
Third Prize
Third prize was awarded to Ramzi Flayhan - postgraduate student from the Department of Accounting with his entry 'Advanced Teleportation Devices'.
A world where the books we read become our virtual reality. Advanced teleportation devices. Where the library is home.
