Periodicals auction

The reversionary interest in the publications bought for the Senior Common Room is auctioned annually, during the Michaelmas term, and the proceeds used to supplement SCR funds. We deliver papers and periodicals so bought to the successful bidder when the new issue arrives, ie we send newspapers daily and periodicals weekly or monthly.

If the reserve price is not met, we sell the reversionary rights to the highest bidder, but we may ask the annual general meeting (AGM) to cancel subscriptions at the end of the year. Members are asked to treat SCR literature with care so that those who buy can receive their purchase in a reasonable state.
