This picture was taken by Joel Suss, editor of the LSE’s British Politics and Policy blog. It was taken in October 2014 at the Dead Sea, Israel.

The Dead Sea, or the Salt Sea as it is called in Hebrew, is the lowest point on Earth at around 1400 feet below sea level. The water is about 10 times saltier than the Ocean, making it very easy to float.
