11 Trafalgar Square at Night

 |

This picture was taken by Nikki Edwards, a postgraduate student in Human Rights. It was taken in London.

I took this photo late one evening as the last of the light was fading from the sky. I used a slow shutter speed of 8 seconds, which makes the water look very still and smooth. Normally this shutter speed would be bad for capturing people as they tend to move and then become blurry (like the flag on the top of the building in the background), but this couple were so engrossed in each other that they were still for the whole 8 seconds.

The final image is Sydney at Night|.
