Women of Soma in Gambia’s Lower River Region in a community declaration to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), in which 20 former circumcisors ‘dropped their knives’. I was there at the invitation of Dr Isatou Touray, Founder and Executive Director of GAMCOTRAP which has been campaigning to end female circumcision in the country since the 1980s.
