This picture was taken by Joe Shaw, a postgraduate student in the Department of Geography and the Environment. It was taken in Queens, New York City, USA.

The largest public housing project in North America is located just north of the 59th Street Bridge in Queens. I've visited this location at every time of day and this shot was taken on 35mm film in the winter dusk. A combination of the chain link fence in the foreground and the dappled lighting make it one of my favourite shots of this location.
