11 Window of Opportunity

11 Window of Opportunity

This picture was taken by Cleo Pearson, an undergraduate student in the Department of Geography. It was taken in Mowire, Ghana in March 2011.

Priscill and I wandered to check for developments on the construction work at the government school one afternoon. Mowire is a small setllement constantly expanding into the untouched bush. This sight left me with a strange feeling of hope and sadness. At what cost will nature suffer for social and economic development?
