This picture was taken by Sneha Kalyansundaram, a postgraduate student in the Department of Organisational and Social Psychology. It was taken in Cherrapunji, India in May 2011.

The living roots bridge is intricately assembled by the roots of the Ficus Elastica tree, perched effortlessly above a river. It is over 100 feet long, exceptionally strong and regularly used by the War-Khasi tribe. For me, this bridge brings to life the might and generosity of Mother Nature.
