This picture was taken by Masreka Khan, a postgraduate student from the Gender Institute. It was taken in South Pakhimara village, Shyamnagor, Bangladesh in July 2010.

This village was completely damaged by the stormy cyclone Aaila one year before I took this photo. It was astonishing how the people restored their strength to keep going even when everything was washed away by the the strongest tropical cyclone in this region.
