08 An Eternal Sunrise

An-Eternal-Sunrise_478

This picture was taken by Wei Jing Sheryl Ang, an undergraduate student from the Department of Law. It was taken in Egypt in December 2010.

This was taken in a temple - once a place of worship, it is now a tourists’ playground. It captures the transience of human existence; the significance we attach to our realities will eventually be displaced. Somber pillars contrast sharply against gleeful tourists, with the sun being the only ageless element in frame.
