This picture was taken by Annie Ren, a postgraduate student from the Institute of Public Affairs. It was taken in Cape Town, South Africa in January 2006.

I took this photograph when I was conducting research on institutionalized care vs. community based care for children affected by poverty and HIV. I was walking in a township in Cape Town and noticed some children at play, so I followed them and was able to capture some candid images.
