This picture was taken by Konstantin Sietzy, an undergraduate student from the Department of Government. It was taken at Uluru (Ayers Rock) in the Northern Territory of Central Australia in August 2011.
Taken on a bus ride to an Uluru basewalk in the early morning, it contrasts starkly with the images I had from the previous afternoon of many hundred tourists crowding it. The peaceful scene does far more justice to this place that is of the highest spiritual significance to the indigenous Anangu.
