07 Climbing to the Sun

Climbing to the Sun

This picture was taken by Justine Rose, Executive Assistant to the Director of ODAR. It was taken on the island of Santa Maria in the Galapagos.

This marine iguana had climbed up a 100 metre cliff from the sea, where he feeds, to get to a ledge with prime sun catching properties. He would have to climb back down to be able to eat.
