This picture was taken by Wendy Foulds, Programme Manager for the Justice and Security Research Programme in the Department of International Development. It was taken near Ashdown forest in East Sussex in December 2011.

The myriad colours of the llamas' coats seemed to echo the late autumn colours of the forest. We were as curious about them as they were about us.
