This picture was taken by Arina Amalina Md Latif, an undergraduate student from the Department of Statistics. It was taken in September 2010 in Kampung Maliau Layung, Sabah Borneo.

I took this picture while doing a community volunteering project in one of the remotest villages in Borneo. It just amazes me how pure a child's smile can be. It gives you a sense of hope.
