04 First sight of Saigon

Saigon

This photo was taken by Shumin Liu, a postgraduate student in the Department of Finance. It was taken on April 2 2010 in Saigon,Vietnam.

I had always want to present the images of Vietnamese women who are smart,hard-working,and never complain about supporting their families. Vietnam is going global and the advert in this picture "world watch" implies this. By placing the Vietnamese woman and the model together, the picture emphasizes a contrast between them and explores an intricate relationship between Vietnamese women and the modern Vietnamese society.

The next image in this month's perspectives is Flow.|
