This picture was taken by Axel Belorde, a postgraduate student in the Department of Management and a member of the LSE Alternative Investments Society. It was taken on June 4 2010, at Kensington Gardens.
I took this picture while having a walk with my fiancée. The movement of the swan's wings was reminiscent of Plato's famous passage on immortality in Phaedo, where he describes how swans sing the beauties of the world awaiting them, before they die.
