The Abode of Clouds

This photo was taken by Asiya Islam, a graduate student in the Gender Institute. This photo was taken en route to Shillong, Meghalaya, India on 5th September 2008.

'Meghalaya literally means the 'Abode of Clouds'. As soon as we entered the state, we could indeed see the clouds, changing form every minute; and they looked especially beautiful contrasted against the lush green scenery. The green hills looked like little volcanoes spitting clouds. This picture was taken from the train.'
