'In respect for Ian Baynham and a symbol of regeneration, there was a candle lit vigil and 2 minutes silence in Trafalgar Square - London this evening against hate crime, specifically for Ian Baynham. I didn't go but would have liked to. I didn't realise it was happening tonight before it was too late.

Ian Baynham (62 years old) was out celebrating a new job with his friend on September 25th when it is thought that he confronted three teenagers (two 17 and one 18 year olds!!!!) after they hurled homophobic abuse at him.

The male youth then punched him, knocking him to the ground, while the girls began kicking him.

He died in hospital on Tuesday night when his family took the decision to switch off his life support machine.'

The next contribution this month is Rangoon Flower Man|
