"I stole this flower from my mum's ongoing house-decoration efforts. However, this is not really a photo. Or rather, it was not taken with an ordinary camera. The flower has been scanned with a scanner. The flower head was being hung, head down, over the scanner surface, just barely touching the glass. This is where the top view, the very shallow depth of field and dark background comes from. The main reason for using the scanner was that at the time, I was not in the possession of a camera that would allow me to take photographs. I only had a scanner."
