'The photo was taken at a trotting track in Berlin Mariendorf in June 2006. A grey, forgotten place, filled with bare and gentle sadness. Most visitors come from a retirement home nearby. They spend their days absolutely cut-off from the vibrancy of Berlin. A parallel society.'
