'The Summer Palace was once a retreat for the Imperial Court, and is now chock-full with tourists and locals gaping at the Chinese Versailles, or rather the Disneyland version of the Chinese Versailles. This picture, taken as the park was closing, maybe captures a bit of the peace that attracted the emperors in the first place.'
