Who needs to log in to the training and development system and why?
All first-time users of the system need to log in, both for security reasons and so that a personalised ‘My training’ record can be created. This will show all courses and events on the system that you have attended during your time at LSE, making it a useful document for career development and job applications.
If you find you cannot log in for whatever reason, please email IT.Training@lse.ac.uk
How do I book a place for an event?
The home page of the training and development system allows you to browse events by theme e.g. career development, research, etc. or by keyword.
Links from the ‘role’ tabs on this page will take you direct to a page showing events suitable for your role running over the next 14 days. (You can alter this to show shorter and longer time periods through the drop-down list at the top of the page.)
For either route, a click on the event you are interested in will take you a page with more information and the opportunity to book a place.
What happens once I have booked
a place?
You will receive an immediate automated response through the system confirming the booking and then, very soon after, an automated email from the training provider also confirming the booking.
At this point the event will be entered automatically on your Outlook calendar and you do not need to do anything else unless you want to cancel your booking (see below).
You will receive a reminder email closer to the time of the event, also from the training provider, but again you do not need to do anything unless you want to cancel the booking.
How do I cancel a booking?
You need to go to the training and development system, log in (top right) and then go to 'My training' – this will show you your training history and allow you to cancel any events not yet attended. It will also enable you to rebook events you have previously cancelled for the next time they are running.
