US Federal loan process
TRIUM offers limited financial aid for US students and US permanent residents.
Student loans fall into two categories, federal loans and private loans.
Federal loans, which are subject to oversight and regulation by the US federal government, include Direct Loans, where the U.S. Department of Education is the lender. Federal student loans usually offer borrowers lower interest rates and have more flexible repayment options than loans from banks or other private sources.
Private companies may offer loans and other forms of financial assistance for education. Private loans, sometimes referenced as “alternative loans,” are offered by these companies and do not include the benefits and protections available with federal loans. Private loans can have higher fees and interest rates than federal government loans. Private loans also do not offer the opportunities for cancellation or loan forgiveness that are available on many federal loan programs.
You MUST follow the instructions in the process flowchart found below, this flowchart shows what to do on-line and the correct order. It also advises what you must print, scan or pdf to send to us.
