This involves debt management of escalated current year tuition fee debtors, aged tuition fees and Hall debtors, current year student sponsors and any current debts arising from externally invoiced customers for goods or services provided by the school.
A debt to the School is deemed to occur when a contractual obligation has been entered into for services or goods provided by the School to a customer or student.
If a debtor has not paid by the agreed due date(s) then credit control procedures will commence.

Credit Searches & Risk Assessment
In order to assess the financial stability of potential and existing customers, it is possible to check trading history, credit worthiness, and if applicable access copies of annual accounts and returns. This can be extended to Directors or founders of Companies or organisations too and is available for UK, EU and worldwide searches. The School has an obligation to safeguard against risk, and this option should be exercised when considering engaging with customers and organisations prior to entering into contracts of high values or where difficulties are being experienced with existing customers or in obtaining payment. Search results are available by return, although please allow more time for overseas results. Requests should be forwarded to credit.control@lse.ac.uk.
