Open House 2013

Open House - 22nd September 2013

OHL-13-Web-Button-(2)The LSE opened its doors to two of our buildings on Sunday 22nd September as part of the 2013 Open House London event.  Each year Open House London gives hundreds of thousands of people the chance to explore their City’s architecture and urban design completely for free.  For more information visit the Open House website http://www.londonopenhouse.org/.

Volunteers from the Estates Division provided guided tours every 15 minutes from 1pm to 5pm, showing almost 200 visitors around 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, our most recently occupied building.  Visitors received a Factsheet containing architectural information, and they were shown points of interest including the new pavilion, the Harvard lecture theatres, the old Land Registrar’s office, and the original entrance hall, with many being given the opportunity to view London from the rooftop as well as seeing the hidden solar panels that have been installed there.

We are planning to showcase the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre in Open House 2014 and as this event is open to all remember to look out for details if you wish to attend as one of our visitors next September!
