LSE leads the way with Design Competitions

Ken KinsellaFollowing an invitation by the President of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Kenneth Kinsella, the LSE Estates Director of Capital Development, was asked to participate in a RIBA ‘Competition Task Force’, which would work with well-informed clients to help the RIBA arrive at new recommendations for running more effective design competitions. The work was completed in June 2014 and was presented by the task force Chair and the LSE’s Kenneth Kinsella to the RIBA Council. The President of the RIBA stated “I was particularly pleased that the proposals are tangible and achievable, with the potential to contribute to real change”.  Kenneth Kinsella commented "It was extremely encouraging that innovations implemented on our award winning Saw Swee Hock Student Centre have been recognised by the industry as exemplary and market leading by the task force and RIBA Council”.
