Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at LSE is comprised of the EDI Office and the EDI Taskforce, which was established in September 2015 for a period of two academic years.
EDI Office
The EDI Office (formerly the EDI unit) serves as a vital resource and leader in promoting and furthering LSE’s commitment to equity and diversity for all members of its community.
The office provides the delivery of services for students, academic staff, professional services staff and senior management to support diversity, inclusiveness, equal access, equitable treatment and multicultural understanding and competency. The Office also provides support to a number of staff networks. The Office reports to the chair of the EDI Taskforce, Professor Carola Frege.

To provide a forum in which those with operational responsibilities for equity and diversity in the School are held accountable for and supported in the delivery of their responsibilities.

To progress compliance with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and other legislation relevant to equity and diversity.

To advise and help the Taskforce in implementing institutional and cultural change across the School in relation to equity, diversity and inclusion.

To propose and discuss equity and diversity initiatives and action plans and help to monitor progress on the delivery.

To promote engagement with, and the integration of, equity and diversity into everyday working practices in the School and to advance best practices throughout the School in relation to equity and diversity.
