The Public Affairs team monitors and analyses developments in higher education policy and other areas that may affect the school’s institutional interests. We manage relationships with policymakers and key opinion formers in the UK and across the globe. We also provide advice on how to communicate your research to policymakers.
Providing advice on influencing policymakers with your research
We conduct Parliamentary monitoring, gather intelligence and horizon scan for opportunities to promote LSE research. If you are planning to publish a report which is policy relevant and/or are looking for opportunities to share your research expertise with policymakers contact comms.publicaffairs@lse.ac.uk
In addition to providing you with advice, planning and support, we support knowledge exchange activity throughout the year. This activity enables LSE academics to showcase and share their research and expertise with policymakers and include party conference fringe events, Policy briefings in Parliament and select committee dinners.
International engagement
The public affairs team works to communicate LSE research to policymakers across the globe. Specifically, we manage LSE’s institutional relationships with international organisations such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Economic Forum.
LSE is pleased to partner with the OECD and participate in its annual forum. This year’s forum entitled ‘Productive economies, Inclusive societies’ will look at a range of issues including migration, growth, productivity, health and the future of education. If you would like to attend this forum or collaborate with the OECD in other ways please get in touch.
For more information about these relationships please contact Noita Sadler. To be informed of public affairs activity across the school and the work of team please email us to subscribe to LSE Public Affairs News, our weekly newsletter.
Party Conferences
The Public Affairs team organises LSE’s presence at the Labour and Conservative party conferences. If you were not able to make it please listen to the podcasts of these events. If you would like to be considered to be on the panel of these events or other Parliamentary engagement events that we organise, please get in touch using the contact details below.
