Accessibility and Access Policies

Accessibility

It is each event organiser's responsibility to ensure in all publicity that it is made clear that the school will endeavour to provide particular access requirements on request. Event organisers should always provide a point of contact and ask that those with any access requirements, e.g relating to sensory impairments, to get in touch in advance of the event. Please also check that the room you have booked is suitable to accomodate accessibility requirements. Disabled Go provide detailed information for the LSE Campus http://www.disabledgo.com/organisations/london-school-of-economics/main.

Please see the accessibility map. If your event is outside office hours please contact LSE Security on 020 7955 6200 for information regarding accessibility after hours.

Hearing loops -the larger venues at LSE are fitted with either induction loops or infra-red transmitters. If you receive a request to use a hearing loop you should contact AV for advice (imt.av.support@lse.ac.uk).

External Visitors

If you invite any visitors external to LSE to attend or speak at your event then you will need to arrange for them to have access to the building. Several of our buildings on campus have access controlled barriers and so your visitor will need to sign in on arrival.

If possible please alert the appropriate building reception via email of your guests arrival in advance.

The email should contain the following details:
The date and time the visitor will arrive and depart the building and if applicable the event title and room where the event is taking place. The Full name of the visitor and any individual access requirements.
Also include your name and department/division or the host member of staff with a contact telephone number so that the reeption can contact you if necessary.
