The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. LSE is a specialist university with an international intake and a global reach. Its research and teaching span the full breadth of the social sciences, from economics, politics and law to sociology, anthropology, accounting and finance. Founded in 1895, the School has an outstanding reputation for academic excellence.
LSE recently launched its Strategy 2020. We intend to undertake a reputation and identity review to ensure the LSE brand supports the organisation’s ambitious vision.
The purpose of the reputation and identity review is to develop a strategic approach to the enhancement of reputation and profile encompassing visual identity and messaging- underpinning all School engagement.
LSE is seeking agencies with expertise in brand management and development to deliver innovative and achievable solutions to refine and consolidate the LSE brand, and to develop a strategic framework to engage our audiences supporting the delivery of the LSE strategy to 2020.
The scope of the project includes but is not limited to:
-
To establish through quantitative and qualitative research how LSE is currently perceived; its strengths, weaknesses and how these vary by key stakeholder groups
-
To define a core set of values and associated brand proposition for our diverse audiences that supports delivery of our LSE Strategy 2020
-
Develop our identity to become adaptive and responsive to current trends while remaining strong and distinctive, yet flexible enough to speak to all our audiences effectively
-
To develop top level brand guidelines translated into a user friendly, engaging format to support audience development, user and stakeholder engagement and fundraising objectives.
Please note: It should not be assumed that LSE is looking to change or replace its core brand assets such as the logo, crest or name.
LSE has adopted a two-stage selection process in order to engage as widely as possible. Stage one is an invitation for expressions of interest (EOI) which asks for relevant experience and approach to the project, plus information on the proposed team composition and its members. A shortlist will be selected for stage two where the selected agencies will be given a more comprehensive brief and be invited to tender.
Expressions of interest should include;
A cover letter expressing formal interest in the project based on the requirements set out in the brief. It should outline suitability for the project and information on experience including:
-
Track record in delivering strategic positioning projects including internal stakeholder engagement, demonstrated by examples of previous work.
-
An outline of relevant experience not necessarily limited to Higher Education, which clearly demonstrates your expertise in working on similar visual identity or brand projects.
-
Information on the technical and professional capability of the proposed team, including team composition.
The complete submission should comprise of no more than five A4 pages (word or pdf format only) and be emailed to comms.brand@lse.ac.uk
Deadline for receipt of expressions of interest 12 noon Monday 4 April 2016.
