LSE and the University of California, Berkeley

LSE confirmed its newest institutional partnership with the University of California, Berkeley in 2015, with a view to launching collaborative activities from 2016/17. This partnership is the natural culmination of a long and rich history of collaboration at all levels and across multiple departments between our two institutions, encompassing teaching, research and student interaction.

LSE - Berkeley Undergraduate Exchange

LSE and Berkeley will launch its undergraduate student exchange in 2016, which will be open to students across most academic departments at both institutions. This newly developed student mobility scheme will enable up to ten undergraduate students from each institution to study at the other for one academic year, thus helping to create global citizens with enhanced study experiences and potential career prospects. LSE - Berkeley PhD Exchange

We are delighted to announce that UC Berkeley will be joining our Partnership PhD Mobility Bursary scheme from 2016/17. This will allow two PhD students from both institutions to undertake research for two - three months at the partner institution. LSE PhD students selected for the exchange to Berkeley will also receive bursaries of up to £2,500 to support their activities in California. For further information, please click here.

Other Collaborative Activities

It is expected that the partnership between LSE and UC Berkeley will extend to other forms of collaboration as the relationship develops, and we will update these web pages in due course once details are available.
