Educational Recording Agency Licence

The ERA Licence enables an educational institution to record for educational purposes any radio or television broadcast and cable output of ERA's members, apart from Open University programmes, which come under a separate licensing scheme.

The following bodies together form The Educational Recording Agency Limited (ERA), which administers the major licensing scheme applicable in the United Kingdom:

  • The Design and Artists' Copyright Society Ltd
  • The Independent Television Network Ltd

  • The Musicians' Union
  • British Actors' Equity Association
  • The Incorporated Society of Musicians
  • The British Phonographic Industry Ltd
