Dr. Charles Yang is currently the CEO and Founder of Shanghai Nature Information Science and Technology Ltd (Nature Dao). The mission of Nature Dao is to help stock-traders reduce their risk and increase their returns
Dr. Yang served as Vice President of the TCL Group and then as CEO of TCL Mobile Communication Co. in 2009. Before joining TCL, he established Dopod Communication Corporation in 2001，served as the CEO and President between 2001 and 2006, and the Honorary Chairman between 2006 and 2008.
Before establishing Dopod, Dr. Yang worked in the USA, for over 16 years, in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Expert Systems, and Internet ecommerce with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Canon Inc, Gap Inc, and Pixo Corp. As the VP of Internet Services at Pixo, his team successfully developed the first generation of mobile Internet service platforms and the first generation operating system (OS) of the smart phone, which became the first OS of the Apple iPod.
Yang's pioneering work in business in China has been well recognised. He was granted the following awards: 2002 Man of the Year in IT in China; Most Successful Entrepreneur in IT, 2002; Top 10 in Science and Technology in China, 2003; 100 Most Influential Executives in IT in China, 2003; Man of the Year in Telecommunication, 2003; China New Economy: Man of the Year with the Most Potential, 2004-2005; Top 10 New IT Executives in China, 2004 –2005; and Top 10 Man of the Year in Chinese IT Finance Industry
Yang received a B.A. and M.A. in engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1982 and 1985, respectively. He obtained an M.S. in 1987 and a Ph.D. in 1990 from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

杨博士于2009年加入TCL集团，任TCL集团副总裁，并出任TCL通讯科技控股有限公司首席执行官(CEO）。在加入TCL集团之前，他于2001年归国后创办了多普达通讯有限公司，并在2001年至2006年任多普达通讯有限公司首席执行官兼总裁，2006年至2008年任多普达通讯有限公司荣誉董事长。
创办多普达之前，杨博士在美国有16年关于人工智能，专家系统，互联网 和电子商务的工作经验。曾任职于加州大学（洛杉矶）， CANON, GAP, PIXO 等公司。作为PIXO公司主管技术副总，他带领团队在硅谷成功开发出第一代移动互联网平台和智能手机操作系统（成为苹果 iPod 的操作系统）。
杨博士在中国IT届已被广泛认可，曾经获得"2002 IT 风云榜"、年度IT风云人物"杰出企业家"奖、"2002年中国十大科技新锐人物"奖、入选"2003年度中国IT业影响力TOP 100人物"、"2003年通信人物英雄榜"、"2003年中国新经济年度人物"、2004-2005年度"中国十大IT新锐人物"和"中国IT十大财经人物"等。
他于1982年和1985年分别获得西安交通大学工学学士学位及工学硕士学位，于1987年和1990年分别获得洛杉矶加州大学工学硕士学位和工学博士学位。
