Installing Pulse Secure on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux Computers

For most LSE staff, students and researchers, the standard remote access service should provide an off-campus route to all the files, email, standard applications and systems you need.

In some cases, however, this service will be insufficient for LSE staff and researchers who are away from campus and need remote access to specialist programs or systems on the LSE network. For people with these requirements, installing Pulse Secure VPN client on your off-campus computer should provide you with the access you need.

Please note that there is no need to install the Pulse client for any machine that you only use on the LSE campus, or if you only need access to the services supplied by remote.lse.ac.uk.

This guide provides two sets of instructions on how to install Pulse, depending upon whether your computer runs Windows or Apple’s operating system. (If you are using Linux and need to use the pulse client, please contact the IT Service Desk.)

If you need to conduct electronic journal searches over the VPN client, please use remote.lse.ac.uk/full-vpn rather than remote.lse.ac.uk/pulse when setting up the connecting address in the instructions below.
