How do I place a caller on hold so that I can have a conversation with someone in my office without the caller hearing?

To place a caller on hold so that they cannot hear the conversations you may wish to have with other members of your office:

1. Tell the caller to hold
2. Press the Recall button to receive a dial tone
3. Dial *9. You will hear a switching to indicate that the caller is on hold.
4. You can now replace the receiver
5. You have 75 seconds to re-establish the call before your phone automatically rings
6. To reconnect to the original caller lift the handset and press *1
