Auxiliary video input

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power on on the touch screen

Press the Auxiliary button to the right of the touch screen
The VCR/Aux screen will display

Choose Aux to use the composite video input on the teaching desk. This allows you to connect mobile video devices such as camcorders.
Data projector
The new audio visual facilities in LSE teaching rooms are controlled using a panel which has both a touch screen and push buttons to operate it.
Before you start, the home screen will be displayed:

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display on button on the right. The touch panel screen will display as below

Touch the screen over Power On to confirm. The projector will then begin to warm up

Choose which device you would like to display using the input buttons to the right of the screen
Please make sure you switch the projector off when you have finished with it.

Press the Display Off button

Confirm by pressing the touch screen over Power Off
DVD player

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power On on the touch screen

Press the DVD button on the right.

The controls for playback control will appear on the touchscreen

Press More to see further options

Press Back to return to the previous screen
HDMI input for a laptop

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power On on the touch screen

Press the Laptop button on the right.

The VGA or HDMI input screen will be displayed

Choose HDMI if you are using an HDMI connection. Please note that this is not available in all rooms.
Sound system for PC/DVD

You can control the sound level by using the adjustable knob to the right of the screen. You can also mute the sound by pressing Mute.
The button will flash until the sound is unmuted.
VCR

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power On on the touch screen

Press the Auxiliary button on the right
The VCR/Aux screen will display

Choose VCR to use the VCR (video cassette player)
The VCR playback controls will be displayed

You can use the playback controls such as rewind, play or fastforward.
Please note that VCR players are being decommissioned and are not being replaced as they reach end of life.
VGA input for a laptop

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power On on the touch screen

Press the Laptop button on the right

The VGA or HDMI input screen will be displayed

Choose VGA if you are connecting via the standard cable to the input on the teaching desk. This is the 15-pin monitor output on your laptop. These cables are available from STC.S50 or call extension 5300/5400. We cannot guarantee that a cable will be present in every room

For Macbooks, a mini display port to VGA adaptor is required. There is a limited stock of these available for loan, however it is advised that you purchase one personally. Advice is available by calling extension 5300/5400.
Doc cam (Visualiser)

Switch the projector on by pressing the Display On button on the right

Press Power On on the touch screen

Press the Doc Cam button on the right

The controls for the Doc Cam (Visualiser) will be displayed

These controls allow you to zoom in on your material. If you are showing acetates, you can change the lamp settings to suit you.
Whiteboard
Teaching rooms are equipped with a whiteboard. Please use only whiteboard markers to write on the board.
